After quite some time, finally "my book" - the book the publisher wanted me to write - has been published.
Since it is out, it would be nice, if it were sold. So, everybody who reads Japanese (I wrote the original in Japanese, but if anybody is interested (publishers!), I can also render it into English and/or German) and can afford it ... please buy a copy ....

My book
I just posted an announcement telling people of the publication of a book I have written.
Actually, I was asked to write this book by the company Ido no Nippon, where I usually buy my acupuncture stuff.
Presumably the book will become available in March or April and I have not yet written a summary in English, but I was somehow wondering, whether this might be interesting for people outside Japan.
Similarly, a number of my patients has asked me, to write a book about why I came to Japan and detail my path up to the present. (I came here 34 years ago, because I was possed by the fixed idea, that I want to learn Kyudo = Japanese archery.
To me, this was/is all the result of the natural course of events ... but other people consider the story to be "interesting", if not even "intriguing.
Would there maybe a publisher anywhere abroad interested in such a story?
It could shed some very strange light on the Japanese acupuncture scene ...

「トーマス先生の話を聞いてみませんか」
2011年の秋、医道の日本社に頼まれて本を書いた。基本的私は特別珍しい見解や優れている技術など何も持っていないが、社長が日頃患者にお話する話題をまとめるべきだといった。
誰か私の話を聞いて＝録音して勝手に書き起こしてしまえばいいのではないかとの意見もあったが、社長や編集長に言わせると「私の日本語は少々変からこそ、日本人にはまね出来ないし、魅力がある」。
それで仕方なく日頃おしゃべりする内容を書いて、今は校正が大体終わり、出版の準備の最後の段階に入りました事をここに公表する。実際に販売開始は多分3月ごろになるでしょう。まだまだ言いたい事は沢山あるが、既にかなりの部分が削除されている。
本が出たら先ず同業者に怒られるのはまちがいないでしょう。
でも ・・・ 是非ご覧になってください。

Chinese communication skills ...
This evening I got an email:
"Hi,
Now we have some documents about angel grinder need to be translated from English into German.please let me know your offer.thanks.
The documents are in the attachment,please check it."
The address showed, this came from China. I later checked ... there actually IS a translation company that would match the mail address (http://www.qctrans.com/), but ...
No self-introduction, no name, no contact information, nothing.
Naturally, no "proper" addressing of a potential service provider.
Since I have never worked for those people, I think it would be only "proper" or "normal" to address me as "Mr. Blasejewicz". Since THEY found me, this information must have been available to them.
Or, am I too old-fashioned???
Somehow I have difficulties imagining me attending a party and addressing the president of a company I have not yet had any contact with like:
"Hi, how cheap can you sell me your stuff?"
Or is this how people deal with each other these days?
If not ... these Chinese people have serious communication troubles.
PS: I told them my rate. Naturally I never got an answer to that. How surprising.
But living in Japan I cannot afford to work for Chinese peanuts.

翻訳
昨日新聞の表ページに記事があった。「発信下手」
その記事は間接的尖閣諸島に関するものですが、同じ事は他の分野でも言える。私は政治の事全く分からないので、余り口を出すべきではないが、鍼灸の世界では同じ事です。
私はもう20年前から（日本人に）日本の鍼灸に関する資料、研究結果、歴史的な視点を含めて、世界に分かるような形で世界に紹介 ＝ 翻訳 すべきだといい続けている。残念ながら今まで聞く耳もたれたことはない。その代わり中国が組織的、大量出版し、私の感覚では大変喧しく宣伝し、そして大半でたらめの情報も流してしまう。
比べるために資料が少ないから、世界中の人々はそれを信じている。
最終的日本人が損する事になる。
私は昔から言った。
そして最近関係者が些かな危機感があるかどうかがわからないけれども、連続的新聞にも（やっと！）そのような話題が取り上げられている。
無論、日本国内の翻訳者が「高すぎて」から、中国の安い翻訳会社を頼むと又何出てくるかが分からない。
日本人は自分自身を守り、発見するためにこのような情報発信が非常に（！）大事です。
今はお金がかかったとしても、後に必ず帰ってくる。
産業では「投資」と言って＝機械を買って、設備を建設する。
情報は知的財産です。チャントそれぞれの知的財産は***誰***のものだと言わないと他人（中国人・・・）がそれは自分の物だと言い出す。一旦そうなってしまったら元に戻すのは殆ど不可能・・・
さて、日本人＝政府、行政、団体など---どうする？
